Every Choice Builds a future: SAY YES TO GOD

One of the greatest gifts God has given humanity is the ability to choose. From the beginning of creation, God did not force Adam and Eve to obey Him. Instead, He placed a tree in the Garden of Eden—the tree of the knowledge of good and evil—as a symbol of free will and a reminder that love must be voluntary, not forced.

Many often ask, “If God knew man would fall, why did He allow such a tree?” The answer takes us to the heart of God’s relationship with humanity: choice is the foundation of genuine love, real obedience, and meaningful faith.

Why God Allowed the Tree

God created humans in His own image, with the ability to think, reason, love, and choose. If there was no alternative choice available, obedience would have been robotic. God wanted His children to follow Him not by compulsion, but by conviction.

The tree was not a trap. It was a test of trust.

Will they trust My word?

Will they choose My presence?

Will they walk in My wisdom rather than their curiosity?

Just like a parent who teaches a child not to touch fire—placing the fire isn’t meant to harm, but to teach discernment—God allowed the tree to teach humanity the importance of obedience and dependence on Him.

The Warning Behind the Choice

God clearly warned Adam: “In the day you eat of it, you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17).

Warnings are not signs of control but expressions of love. A warning shows that the giver cares about the consequences you may not see.

Even today, God continues to give us:

Warnings through His Word

Promptings through the Holy Spirit

Counsels through pastors, parents, and mentors

Signals through circumstances

But just like Eden, the choice is ours.

Every choice we make brings us closer to God or pushes us farther from Him.

The Two Door Story

Imagine a king placing two doors before his citizens.

One door leads to treasure; the other leads to danger.

He places a clear sign on each door:

“This way leads to life.”

“This way leads to destruction.”

He even sends a trusted messenger to repeat the warning.

Yet some people ignore the signs, driven by curiosity and pride. When they choose the wrong door, they cannot blame the king—he gave them choice and warning.

Likewise, God sets before us life and death, blessing and curse (Deuteronomy 30:19).

He invites us to choose life, but He never forces us.

The Cut-Off Tree

A farmer had a mango tree that produced beautiful leaves but no fruit. Every season he waited with hope, but the tree remained barren. One day he said, “If this tree continues like this, it will occupy the soil but produce nothing. I will cut it off.”

Before cutting it, he gave the tree one more season of care—extra water, fertilizer, and protection. If the tree chose to respond, it would live. If not, it would be cut off.

Jesus used the same example in Luke 13:6–9.

God gives us seasons of warning, mercy, and opportunity. But if we continue rejecting His voice, we become like a fruitless tree that faces judgment.

Choosing Christ Today

Just like Adam and Eve, every human faces a daily garden—a place of decisions:

Will we choose God’s truth or our desires?

Will we walk in prayer or in pressure?

Will we live in holiness or compromise?

Will we choose forgiveness or bitterness?

Will we follow Jesus or follow the world?

The ability to choose is a powerful gift, but also a serious responsibility.

Modern Incident: The Young Man at the Crossroads

A young believer once shared his story. He grew up in church but slowly drifted into worldly friendships. His pastor lovingly warned him several times, saying, “You are choosing the wrong tree.” But he ignored the counsel and followed his desires.

One night, a dangerous accident shook his life. He survived miraculously and testified later, “God gave me a warning before the fall, and again mercy after the fall. But I wish I had chosen Him earlier.”

God warns us not to punish us, but to protect us.

The Loving Call of God

Today, God still places the tree of choice before us.

But He also places another tree—the Cross of Christ—which restores what was lost in Eden.

At the first tree, man chose disobedience.

At the second tree, Jesus chose obedience.

At the first tree, death entered.

At the second tree, life was offered.

Through the Cross, God gives us a fresh invitation:

Choose Me. Follow Me. Walk in My ways.

A Final Warning Filled With Love

Every choice builds a future.

Every “yes” to God opens a door to blessing.

Every “no” to His voice invites consequences.

God will never force you, but He will always call you.

Choose wisely. Choose Christ. Choose life.

The Little Sparrow Who Trusted God

In a quiet green valley surrounded by tall mountains and colorful flowers, there lived a little sparrow named Tiko. Tiko was the tiniest bird in the whole valley. His feathers were soft brown, and his eyes sparkled like dew drops. But Tiko had one big problem—he was always worried.

Every morning the other birds chirped happily, flying high into the sky. But Tiko stayed near the ground.

“What if I fly too high and fall?” he worried.

“What if I cannot find food?” he murmured.

“What if something bad happens to me?”

One bright morning, Tiko sat on a branch feeling sad while the sun painted the sky with golden light. Suddenly, he heard a gentle sound behind him.

It was Mighty, the big eagle who lived at the top of the mountain. Even though Mighty was strong, he had a kind heart.

“Tiko,” Mighty asked in his deep, calm voice, “why are you sitting alone?”

Tiko sighed. “I am scared, Mighty. I am small. What if God forgets about me?”

Mighty’s eyes softened. “Come with me. I want to show you something.”

Tiko gulped, but he trusted Mighty. The eagle spread his great wings and glided slowly so Tiko could follow. They flew just above the treetops until they reached a tall cliff.

From there, Tiko could see the whole valley—rivers shining like silver, trees dancing in the wind, and animals roaming freely.

Mighty pointed his wing toward the riverbank. “Look there.”

“But… I am so small,” Tiko whispered.

He flew down to a patch of grass where tiny ants worked hard carrying crumbs larger than themselves.

“Do you think they worry if God will feed them?” Mighty asked.

“Exactly. They trust Him. And God never fails. If He cares for ants, turtles, deer, monkeys, and squirrels… why wouldn’t He care for a sparrow like you?”

Tiko felt something warm in his heart—peace he had never felt before.

That evening, dark clouds gathered, and strong winds blew. All animals rushed to find shelter. Tiko trembled when he heard thunder. But this time, he remembered what Mighty showed him.

“If God cared for all of them,” he said to himself, “He will take care of me too.”

He prayed softly, “Lord, I trust You.”

Tiko flew to a safe tree hollow. The storm rumbled loudly, but Tiko didn’t worry like before. He tucked his tiny head under his wing and slept peacefully.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” This principle calls us to live confidently, even when we cannot see the full picture. Faith moves us forward, step by step, trusting God will lead us safely.

          An illustration comes from a mountaineer who climbed a foggy mountain with poor visibility. Trusting his guide’s knowledge, he took one careful step at a time until reaching the peak. Similarly, our faith guides us through life’s uncertainties.

“See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it…”

Life is full of closed doors—opportunities that didn’t work out, people who rejected us, jobs we didn’t get, and seasons that seemed blocked. But the Bible teaches that God is a God of open doors, and when He opens one, no human, no demon, no circumstance can shut it.

This message teaches us how God opens doors, why some doors shut, and how to walk boldly through the door God has prepared.

THE HOTEL KEY CARD

A pastor once traveled to a foreign country. At the hotel, he was given a key card. When he reached the room, he kept pressing the card—but the door didn’t open. Frustrated, he tried again and again.

A worker passing by smiled and said, “Sir, you are trying to open the wrong room. Your key card belongs to the room next door.”

Immediately the door opened.

Lesson: Some doors remain closed not because God is blocking us, but because we’re trying to open a door that is not ours.

STORY OF NEHEMIAH – GOD OPENS IMPOSSIBLE DOORS

Nehemiah was a cupbearer—an ordinary servant. But God placed a burden in his heart to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. It was an impossible mission.

He had no money.

No authority.

No permission.

No political power.

But when God opens a door:

The king noticed Nehemiah’s sadness

The king asked what he needed

What Nehemiah could never achieve on his own, God accomplished in a single conversation.

WHEN GOD SHUTS A DOOR, IT’S FOR YOUR PROTECTION

Acts 16:6-7 tells us that Paul wanted to preach in two regions—but the Holy Spirit prevented him.

b) It aligns with Scripture—never contradicts the Bible

c) It requires faith, not fear

Open doors often feel bigger than you.

d) It glorifies God, not your pride

1. Pray for clarity

Sometimes God shows a door, but we need courage to step through.

2. Prepare yourself

David was anointed long before he faced Goliath. Preparation opens bigger doors.

3. Walk in obedience

Delayed obedience is disobedience. Move when God says move.

4. Trust God for provision

If God gives a vision, He provides the resources.

Praise and worship are not just spiritual activities during a church service — they are keys that unlock the presence, power, and glory of God in our lives. When we truly understand what praise and worship mean, we experience breakthroughs, healing, joy, and a closer relationship with our Heavenly Father.

What Is Praise?

Praise means declaring by the knowledge of who God is, what He has already done, and acknowledging His greatness. It is celebrating His character:

• God is Almighty

• God is Faithful

• God is Healer

• God is Provider

• God is Savior

Praise lifts Him up above every situation we face.

🎵 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.” — Psalm 145:3 (NKJV)

Praise says:
“Lord, I know who You are. You are bigger than every problem.”

Praise must come from a heart filled with the knowledge of God’s Word. The more we know God through Scripture, the higher our praise rises.

Praise Brings the Presence of God Down

The Bible says:

🕊 “But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.” — Psalm 22:3 (NKJV)

When we praise:

✔ God chooses to dwell among us
✔ His presence becomes real and tangible
✔ His power begins to work in our circumstances

Where God’s presence is — healing happens, chains break, fear leaves, joy overflows!

Biblical Example — Paul and Silas

Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown into a dark prison (Acts 16). But at midnight they praised God.

Suddenly…

🔥 A great earthquake shook the prison
⛓ All chains broke
🚪 Doors opened
💡 A jailer and his family were saved

Their bodies were in chains — but their hearts were free to praise.

This shows:

• Praise works even in painful moments

• Praise is a weapon against darkness

• Praise invites miracles from Heaven

Your midnight situation can become a miracle moment through praise.

Praise Confuses the Enemy

In 2 Chronicles 20, the armies of Moab and Ammon were ready to destroy Israel. But King Jehoshaphat put worshippers in front of his soldiers. As they praised:

🎺 “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.”

God caused the enemies to fight each other!

Praise disarms the enemy because:

✔ Satan expects complaints
✔ Praise declares faith
✔ Praise reminds him of his defeat

When you praise — the enemy panics!

What Is Worship?

While praise celebrates God’s acts, worship goes deeper:

Worship is surrender.
Worship is intimacy.
Worship is giving God your heart.

🎵 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24 (NKJV)

Worship says:
“Lord, You are everything to me.”

Worship happens when His presence becomes so real that we bow our hearts before Him with love and honor.

When God Seems Silent – Trust His Process

Main Scripture: Habakkuk 2:3 – “For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (NKJV)

There are seasons in every believer’s life when God seems silent. We pray, we wait, we believe… yet nothing appears to change. Silence is one of the hardest tests of faith. But in the silence, God is not absent—He is working.

1. THE SEED ILLUSTRATION – GOD WORKS IN THE HIDDEN PLACE

When a farmer plants a seed, nothing appears on the surface for many days. The ground looks silent, dead, unchanged. But something powerful is happening underground—roots are forming. Without roots, the plant can never stand strong when it finally grows.

In the same way, when God is silent, He is forming roots in our life—faith, patience, endurance, humility. Silence does not mean inactivity; it means preparation.

Lesson: If you don’t see anything happening, trust that something is happening below the surface.

2. STORY OF JOSEPH – DELAY IS NOT DENIAL

Joseph had a dream at 17, but it took 13 years before he saw it fulfilled (Genesis 37–41). During those years, he faced betrayal, slavery, prison, false accusations, and loneliness. From the outside it looked like God had forgotten him.

But in the silence, God was arranging a throne in Egypt while Joseph was in a prison cell.

When the right time came, in a single day, Joseph went from prisoner to prime minister.

Lesson: God’s timing is not slow—it's perfect. What looks like delay is actually divine preparation.

There is a type of Chinese bamboo tree that shows no growth for 4 years after planting. No leaves, no shoots, no sign of life. But in the 5th year, suddenly it grows 90 feet in just 6 weeks!

Did it grow in 6 weeks or in 5 years?

Answer: 5 years—because during those years, it was developing a strong root system.

Some blessings take time because they need deep foundations.

Isaiah 40:31 says,

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles.”

An eagle does not flap its wings constantly—it waits for the right wind current, then spreads its wings and rises without struggle.

God is teaching us not to fight in our own strength, but to wait for His timing so we can rise effortlessly by His Spirit.

THE SILENT TEACHER

A student once complained to his teacher:

“Why do you always stay silent during the test?”

The teacher replied:

“Because the exam is not the time for teaching but the time for proving what you have learned.”

Sometimes God is silent not because He has left us, but because our faith is being tested and proved.

APPLICATION – WHAT TO DO WHEN GOD IS SILENT?

✅ Keep praying even when you feel nothing

✅ Keep reading the Word even when it seems dry

✅ Keep worshipping even when it feels heavy

✅ Keep obeying even when results are invisible

✅ Keep trusting even when you don’t understand

Obedience in silence is the highest form of faith.

GOD HAS AN APPOINTED TIME

Habakkuk 2:3 assures us:

“The vision is for an appointed time… though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come.”

Your prayer is not ignored.

Your tears are not unseen.

Your waiting is not wasted.

The God who was faithful to Joseph, David, Hannah, and Daniel—is faithful to you.

When God is silent, He is not denying you—He is preparing you.

One day when the answer comes, you will say:

“Now I understand why God made me wait.”

“Lord, help me trust Your timing. Even in silence, help me believe You are working. Strengthen my faith, deepen my roots, and prepare me for the promise You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
